Starting at age 46, I began to have serious hip pain. Having enjoyed dancing, jogging and hiking all my adult life, it was a bitter pill to swallow. Then I found out I had congenital hip dysplasia and the prognosis was a double-total hip replacement. That said, my doctor did not want me to have the two surgeries until I was 55. So for 9 agonizing years, I had to give up many activities that I loved. After my surgeries at age 55, I began to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
